Terms

These terms are between you and 24 Hour Designs LLC, doing business as Language App AI, 4750 Lincoln Blvd #133, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292 (“we”), who run Language Tutor. By using it you agree to them; when you buy a plan or a top-up, checkout asks you to tick that you do. Questions: contact@languageapp.ai.

What Language Tutor is

An AI tutor that talks with you in the language you are learning, corrects you, drills you and keeps notes on how you learn. Its replies are written by an AI. They can be wrong — about the language, and about anything else. It is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind, and it is not a crisis service: if you are in danger, call your local emergency number; the app shows national helplines when it hears that you might be.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13. Where the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to terms like these on your own (up to 16 in parts of Europe), you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission; and if you are under 18, you need it to buy a plan or a top-up. Bad-language mode — swearing, slang and insults taught the way a friend would — is for adults: you confirm you are 18 or older when you turn it on. Even in that mode the tutor explains slurs when you ask about them but never teaches you to say them, and nothing in it is aimed at a real person.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. One person per account. We may ask a browser to prove it is a person’s (Cloudflare Turnstile) before a new tutor or account is made.

Using it fairly

Don’t use Language Tutor to break the law, to harass or harm anyone, to get it to produce hateful or sexual content about real people, to attack, scrape or overload the service, or to get around its limits (for example by creating tutors or accounts automatically). We may limit, pause or close an account that does.

What you write, and what it writes

What you write stays yours; you let us process it to run your tutor (see Privacy). What the tutor writes for you is yours to use for your learning. The words and short phrases the tutor teaches may also appear, without anything about you, on public pages about those words.

Availability

We work to keep Language Tutor running, but it may be unavailable at times, and features may change. We may end the service with reasonable notice; any plan already paid for is then refunded for the unused part of its month.

Liability

Language Tutor is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we make no promise that it will be free of interruptions or errors, or that what the tutor says is right, and we give no warranty beyond what these terms say.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit, data or opportunity, and our total liability to you for everything to do with Language Tutor is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or US$50 if that is more.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited — for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or wilful misconduct — or takes away a right you have as a consumer where you live.

Ending

You can stop at any time and delete your account in Options → Account. We may close an account that breaks these terms; if we close one without good cause, we refund the unused part of a paid month.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of California, USA, and any dispute about them goes to the state or federal courts of Los Angeles County, California. If you are a consumer, you keep the protections of the law where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there where that law gives you the right.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change applies.
